Hey Madoka
I originally created the thread to see if someone would reply. I wasn't expecting Michael to randomly show up.

Sorry to cause you trouble. ..... .-. I pity you Kat.
Anyway, I'm out. I'd responded out of a desire to try and mend things. It kinda failed.

You pity me? That seems a bit misplaced.. Why would you pity me?

How long is this going to get dragged out?
Just forgive each other, already and don't try to be close. Closeness online hurts because people are jerks due to anonymity
It's worse than playground bullying because there's no face to face interaction whatsoever

Well Kat, it's cause you've sorta closed yourself off inside a shell of idek what. You can no longer really be yourself online. You've put up your defenses so that you can't be hurt, but you can't really reach out to others, or accept them reaching out to you. So, I pity you.
Madoka, I beg to differ, again. I've known some people online who've met. I've known people who are better off for having friends online. Yes though, some people are jerks, and people in general make mistakes.

So some people are better off not actually truly meeting and knowing the people they are talking to? That's what it means to have an online only friend. I pity people who are like that. The Internet only came about in the past hundred years. For thousands, people survived and made friends without it Are you saying that before the Internet some people would have been better off without friends period? If the Internet vanished, what would you do, stuck in reality? Online friends are ok. Just not necessarily who you should be spending the majority of your time with
It's better to know people in reality. For all you know, I could be a spooky predator pretending to be someone I'm not because this is the Internet.

You've put up your defenses so that you can't be hurt, but you can't really reach out to others, or accept them reaching out to you. Of course I have. I was insulted for a long time. Long enough to realize that life is too short to bother caring about what everyone else thinks of me, and also to realize that the only way to not care is to close myself off

To build on What Madoka has been saying...
What would you do if you had no internet and had to return to communication island?

To answer your question, I'd probably just go back to how I lived before. Lots of games and anime, more or less oblivious to the people around me.
Madoka, I was not pushing to that extreme. At the very least, I wanted to be clear that whether it's online, or off, it still matters.

I like video games to, and anime but they only became a thing in the past hundred years Before then, people read books and went outside and did many other things If video games and anime vanished, would you be a book worm?

It's been a while since I last really read though. I'd likely find something.
Anyway, as I understand it, I'm just being a bother right now, so I'll leave you be.
Good luck.
